I watch a lot of Star Trek, alright?!

Is it possible to have a story that goes into space without treknobabble? I sure as hell don’t think so; if there is, don’t tell me (I might cry and then we’d both feel bad). If you’ve got other stuff you want to tell me, though, I’ve added a link to my email address over there on the right side-bar. Oh, and before I get a flood of email about it, I’ll just answer this question now: Yes, I am actually this awesome. It’s insane, I know.

Hey Hey Birthday

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

So today is Jack’s Birthday, the old man is turning 26. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by heading out into space. Happy Birthday Jack.

Now celebrating 26 years of awesomeness

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

It is indeed the anniversary of my birth, though I am of course stuck here at work. It’s okay, though, as the celebration of awesomeness tends to spread out over a couple days / weeks.

Webcomics.com is dead! Long live webcomics.com!

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

The boys from Halfpixel have relaunched webcomics.com.

Webcomics.com is a virtual water-cooler for cartoonists to discuss, learn, exchange ideas and help each other as best we can to succeed. It’s a place to work on problems and try to find new and better ways to open new markets, expand existing ones and think more out of the box. It’s an anchor for those of us that chose a profession with no office building, cubicles, co-workers or meetings. It’s a place where we can feel less solitary about what we do, and support each other in our endeavors.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what they’ll have to offer with this new venture.

Commenting

Friday, October 24th, 2008

I’ve decided to turn commenting on in the blog. There’s only one rule, and it’s the same I follow in life: don’t be a dick. We love talking with our readers, and while we’re not quite ready for a forum yet, this should foster some good discussion. I can’t promise I’ll respond to every comment, though; if you absolutely need a reply from me, go ahead and drop me an email, the link is over there on the right.

It’s that time again…

Hey! You! Go out and vote!

I know you’ve been hearing this everywhere all day today, and you’re probably getting tired of it. Here’s the thing, though: It’s REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT. GO VOTE.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for

I know I should really keep politics out of this, but I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder to be an American.

Seriously.

This isn’t really related to the comic, but it’s way too awesome not to share: Stick inducted into toy hall of fame. That’s right, they’ve inducted the humble stick (generally of the wooden variety) into the toy hall of fame! When I was a wee lad, finding a good stick on the ground could make any day go from boring to awesome in a heartbeat. All of a sudden, you’ve got a lightsaber, a gun, a guitar, or ANYTHING you want it to be! Hell, it could even be a stick!

As I got the link from Sheldon, I’ll link the strip that explains it perfectly: http://sheldoncomics.com/archive/061013.html
